“Gratitude is riches. Complain is poverty.” ~ Doris Day

The above quote succinctly captures the essence of my blog post today. I mean we have heard over and again the importance, effect and consequences of gratitude and to a large extent, I believe that we often speak of how grateful we are. However, do we live it? It was John F. Kennedy who said and I quote “As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”

So I ask again are you truly grateful? Or are you paying lip service to the concept of gratitude? As I ask you these questions I ask myself the same. I am currently reading a book that is causing a mega shift in my mind and I planned to wait till it’s completed before I share my learnings from it, but I can’t keep calm! Every chapter opens me up to a different dimension of light that makes me scream in my room. Here is something I want to share about gratitude from this amazing book.

Chapter 7 of the book is titled GRATITUDE and when I started to read it I felt like yea, I know a lot about gratitude and I’ve even been on a gratitude journey since the start of the year and it’s been mind-blowing what that has done for my mind. But nothing prepared me for the light that hit me from this chapter. Let me get on to it.

“The law of gratitude is the natural principle that action and reaction are always equal and in opposite directions. The grateful outreaching of your mind in thankful praise to the supreme power is a liberation or expenditure of force. It cannot fail to reach that to which it is addressed. And as a result, God responds with an instantaneous movement towards you” – The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles.

My God! I read this more than once and I couldn’t help but scream! What???? To be honest I am experiencing a measure of this reality but to think of the deeper understanding this brought to me was simply mind-blowing. You should hear me talking about this right now, you will feel the energy from my voice, but I guess you already know that if you’ve been following some of my works. And if not, look out for an episode of my podcast below and read this portion again imagining how passionate I sound. I digress. Whew! Please read the above quote again and let it sink. Then you can share with me the light that hit you in the comments.

Let me drop another one before I bring this post to a close.

“The moment you permit your mind to dwell with dissatisfaction upon things as they are, you begin to lose ground. You fix attention upon the common, poor, the squalid and the mean – and your mind takes the form or mental images to the formless. Thus, the common, the poor, the squalid, and the mean will come to you” ~ The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles.

Say what!!!!! Did you catch the phrase … ‘dwell with dissatisfaction’? As in, not just dwelling on. In reality, we will get dissatisfied at events, situations, circumstances or people but with a deep-rooted attitude of gratitude, we are quick to move away from that feeling and thought of dissatisfaction and view the situation from a place of gratitude which makes a whole lot of difference. However, when you dwell, it means you are perpetually thinking about it, and it has become your default state of being to see only what makes you dissatisfied or only what is wrong about the situation never even seeing any good about it. Whew! I hope you are catching the drift here. I truly hope so. I just couldn’t hold it in and so I thought to share. Think on these words, meditate on them and let the light unravel in you.

I belong to a mastermind and this is our book for the season which we review every Sunday at 9pm WAT. Should you want to be a part of our journey into this world of light using this book as a guide then I’d like to invite you to join us now that we are still in the early chapters of the book. See details in the image below. Yes, we only want committed people, people who will show up because they are hungry for a change of mindset and that is why you have to pay so you can pay attention, but I can promise you that the commitment fee is nothing compared to the value and light that you will experience when you go through this book, not just by yourself but in the company of brilliant minds like yours. It’s all shades of awesomeness I kid you not. I hope you join. You can connect with me HERE once you make the commitment so I can add you to the group.

I would love to read from you. How did this information hit you differently? Please share your lightbulb moments with me if any.
